Solo Trip – Day 6 – Thursday

Solo Trip – Day 6 – Thursday

Today was a day dedicated to Magic Kingdom, rides, parades and nighttime spectaculars.

I arrived for park opening so I could watch the opening show at the castle, I arrived just in time.

After this I headed straight to Space Mountain to ride again but unfortunately it was closed, so I headed for Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin, which thankfully was only a short wait, after this I headed for my first FastPass, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with my GoPro in hand.

I now had a bit of time before my next FastPass, Big Thunder Railroad, therefore I went to Main Street to get some photos of the castle and surrounding areas whilst also watching the Move It Shake It parade.

The time had arrived for my Big Thunder Mountain FastPass so I headed on over and got in line.

I was then feeling a bit peckish and had a while before my Splash Mountain FastPass so went for a snack at Sleepy Hollows which was a Mickey Shaped Waffle with strawberries, whipped cream and powdered sugar, which was delightful.

So far so good with the weather, this was until I got on Splash Mountain, a warning came across the queue saying we are expecting a storm in the area you may get wet from the weather in addition to the ride, I thought no problem as I’m gonna be getting wet anyway. As we came outside for the big drop of the ride the heavens had opened and there was as expected heavy rain, very heavy, we were soaked before we even got to the bottom of the drop, I said to the guest behind me I’m not sure if I’m more wet from the rain or the ride I really don’t know.

It was getting closer to Festival of Fantasy parade time and all outdoor rides had been stopped due to the weather as it was still rainy and thunder and lightning was present in the area. At this time I decided to go back to the hotel to have a shower change into some dry clothes and head back to Magic Kingdom for the nighttime showing of Happily Ever After and Once Upon a time.

On arriving at the Magic Kingdom for the night I headed to Casey’s Corner for one of their legendary hot dogs.

When finished eating I primed out a spot for the nighttime spectaculars at the front of the castle and I have to admit this was a much better experience than my viewing from Main Street on Saturday.

Once finished I headed back to my hotel for the night with the plan in my mind of trying to do all four theme parks on Friday to redo a few things and complete things missed due to bad weather.
